The general idea of the system was to create a global interface between client and his home. The design idea of this project was that electronics should work, but you do not necessarily have to see it. You do not need to know what is happening behind the screen as long as you’re happy with the performance. Reducing the wall clutter to minimum was very important and automating daily tasks.
The scope of this project was integration of following low voltage systems: computer network, phone system, access, A/V distribution, lighting control, automatic window treatments, burglary system, CCTV surveillance and HVAC control. Provide easy, user-friendly control and on the top of that, install dedicated home theater.
We provided the ability to control literally everything in the house from any touchpanel or remote control at the touch of the button. Local control includes a mix of wireless touchpanels (Vantage), handheld remotes (RTI) and permanent in-wall touchpanels (Vantage). A requirement was that any touchpanel or remote could control, or adopt the room profile for any defined zone or room within the residence. This would include the ability to control audio and video devices, HVAC, security, CCTV, window treatments, HVAC and lighting. Every piece of equipment is contained in the racks.
In a nutshell the project consists of: (28) distributed audio zones, (14) HD video zones, (5) HVAC zones, (156) lighting circuits, (10) automatic shades, (66) custom keypads, (13) touch panels, (8) remote controls, (2) surround sounds rooms, (1) dedicated home theater, (40) monitored security zones, (3) equipment racks – all together creating awesome experience for the client.

His audio/video sources are: (3) Dish Network HD DVR Satellite receivers, Blu-Ray Player, XM Radio, PC Server, iPod Dock Station, Escient Music Server with 400-DVD diskchanger, CCTV cameras. There are also (3) PS3 units connected as local source (one per floor), and a number of sources dedicated to home theater.
All of the integration was done via Vantage Controls InFusion system that is straightforward and easy for the homeowner to operate. All the control functions were also duplicated on the RTI handheld remotes. Both systems created very robust and reliable control solutions for the client.
We control all the light loads at home, ceiling fans and number of dedicated outlets. All thermostats are labeled and placed in the utility room. There are only flush mounted and painted over temperature sensors all over the house.
We were also responsible for the home wired and wireless network, computer infrastructure, remote access to all subsystems and phone system tied to door station integrated with intercom.
The client was extremely happy. We delivered on time, the integration not only succeed technologically speaking but is almost invisible. We asked the client what would make this system worthy of recognition. This is what he told us: “The system as such is a project that has surpassed all my expectations. It is dynamic and is becoming more modern as new developments are found. An integrated system that is as modern as technology allows meeting and exceeding my dreams”.
